Good Morning!
"WE ARE AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST" (II Corinthians
5:20)
Are you viewed by your peers, competitors, family members, and
neighbors as Christ's Ambassador...or just as some kind
of religious lackey?
AN AMBASSADOR:
IS A DIPLOMATIC AGENT OF THE HIGHEST RANK, APPOINTED TO REPRESENT
HIS GOVERNMENT TO THAT OF ANOTHER.
How are you doing in representing the Kingdom of
God to your alien world?
"We Christians have the unmistakable 'scent' of Christ,
discernible alike to those who are being saved and to those who
are heading for death. To the latter it seems like the deathly
smell of doom, to the former it has the refreshing fragrance of
life itself." (II Corinthians 2:15, 16, Phillips Translation)
SPEAKS ON BEHALF OF THE SOVEREIGN FROM WHOM HE HAS RECEIVED
HIS COMMISSION IN FAITHFULLY AND PRECISELY PROCLAIMING
THE MESSAGE ENTRUSTED TO HIM.
How are you doing in faithfully and precisely
delivering the message entrusted to you by your Sovereign?
"Never lose your sense of urgency, in season or out of
season. Prove, correct, and encourage, using the utmost patience
in your teaching." (II Timothy 4:2, Phillips Translation)
IS AN ALIEN IN A FOREIGN LAND WHO IS WILLING TO ENDURE REJECTION
AND SUFFERING IN THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF HIS MISSION.
How are you doing in responding to the rejection
and suffering imposed on you by your lost friends? Paul,
while incarcerated as Christ's ambassador replied in this
fashion:
"... Pray for me, that utterance may be given me...to
make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which
I am an ambassador in chains." (Ephesians 6:20)
Ambassadorship is a high and noble calling. God help us to
be faithful to that calling!
