Presenting ...
... a weekly letter of encouragement.

Good Morning!
FREUD LIED TO US
In telling us we are not responsible for our actions...that the cause of our misery is tied to the failings of our parents, society...anyone but us...that the best we can hope for is to learn to cope with our scarred lives.
CHRIST GAVE US THE TRUTH
In telling us that regardless of our background, "We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." (Romans 8:37)
Because of the indwelling, transcending Christ, we can:
Be forgiven and healed of our past - even the past derived from our parents or society.
"Who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit..." (Psalm 103:3, 4)
Experience daily victory over sin, depression, anger, lust, fear - you name it:
"Those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will REIGN IN LIFE through One, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:17)
Too long we have bought into a benign, weakened form of Christianity. Consider:
"For He delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son." (Colossians 1:13)
"Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." (Ephesians 6:10, 11)
"If a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether - the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new." (II Corinthians 5:17 - Phillips)
This life of victory in Christ is ours...but it requires not only the CONTINUOS APPROPRIATION OF HIS GRACE, but living a life of focused daily discipline through the word and prayer. If I am unwilling to start here, even the grace of God cannot deliver me from the mediocre life promised by Freud.
Have a great week!
