Presenting ...
... a weekly letter of encouragement.
May 17, 1993
Good Morning!
"You can tell the measure of a man by what it takes to get him down."
By that standard Paul was a giant:
Not to mention his inner struggle...yet his inner victory:
- Imprisoned
- Beaten
- Near death
- Stoned
- Shipwrecked
- Exhausted
- Starving
- Overloaded with responsibility
- "Handicapped - but never frustrated
- Puzzled - but never in despair
- Persecuted - but never alone
- Knocked down - but never knocked out"
"Everyday we experience something of the death of Jesus." (II Corinthians 11:23-29; 4:8 - 10 Philipps Translation)
So why did Paul go through so much pain? "I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen that they also may obtain...salvation." (II Timothy 2:10)
AS A FELLOW SOLDIER OF CHRIST, LET ME ASK YOU:
What is your measure as a man:
What does it take to get you down?
What are you willing to endure for the sake of God's chosen?
Have a great week!
