Presenting ...
... a weekly letter of encouragement.
April 26, 1993
Good Morning!
"The problem of the soul is how to live nobly in an animal environment." *
Or put in the vernacular: "How can you soar like an eagle when you walk with turkeys?"
Nobility of soul is chiseled into the lives of those who choose to respond to the
mundane and mediocre vicissitudes of life in a magnanimous fashion.
Jesus lived nobly in an animal enviornment and so can you. Consider the fact that He:
"Voluntarily lost Himself in an obscure Middle Eastern village
Annihilated Himself in the daily monotony of thirty years' rough, miserable work
Separated Himself from the society that 'counts' - to walk with common men
Died in total anonymity."+
If you claim to be one of His disciples then:
"Let Christ Jesus be your example as to what your attitude should be:
"For He, who had always been God by nature, did not cling to His prerogatives as God's equal, but stripped Himself of all privilege by consenting to be a slave by nature and being born a mortal man.
"And, having become a man, He humbled Himself by living a life of utter obedience, even to the extent of dying...the death of a common criminal." (Philippians 2: 5 - 9 - Phillips Translation)
Jesus lived nobly in an animal environment and so can you!
Have a great week!
