Presenting ...
... a weekly letter of encouragement.
March 29, 1993
Good Morning!
COMPROMISE: "Whatever works for you..."
"Don't rock the boat"
"Be politically correct"
"Go with the flow"
CONVICTION: While all Israel descended into the abyss of immorality and servitude to other gods and nations by compromising her faith, Joshua drew a line in the sand by stating:
"Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve...
But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15)
COMPROMISE or CONVICTION: One benign believer observed, "Wherever I go they serve coffee and cookies. Wherever Paul went they had a riot."
Joshua and Paul were uncompromising in their convictions. Both drew a line in the sand.
Here is a check list from Psalm 15 to help you determine if you are a person of compromise or conviction:
My convictions, speech and actions all match up. (vs.2)
I seek to up build others rather than tear them down. (vs.3)
My word can be counted on at whatever cost to me personally. (vs. 4)
I despise evil and honor those who fear the Lord. (vs. 4)
I don't over charge or take bribes. (vs. 5)
How about you? Are you compromising with cookies or creating riots because of your convictions?
Have a great week!
