Linear/Rotary Dual Motion Unit and X-Y Tables

HSI's linear/rotary unit provides linear & rotary motion in one compact package. The unique, patent pending design provides incremental rotational and linear movement of the output shaft. The two degrees of freedom in movement can be actuated independently or concurrently.

Utilizing HSI's high quality stepper motors the unit is capable of delivering up to 50 pounds of thrust and 16 oz-in of torque. Rare earth magnets can be incorporated in the motors for added performance and hybrid steppers can be used for applications requiring even greater forces.

The linear/rotary unit allows for simplified system design and a reduction in the number of components. It is ideal for use in tight fitting applications requiring precise controllable motion, pick and place equipment, robotics, and a wide array of instrumentation.

All of our X-Y tables use highly durable components and are designed for simplicity economy and performance. Standard travel from 1" to 8" of stroke is available in 1" increments. Custom units are available. The tables can be used in any orientation. All tables come with HSI's reliable steppers, optional drive packages are also available. The amount of force generated is a function of the size of the linear stepper being used.

Dynamic load and performance accuracy: Mechanical positional accuracy, mechanical repeatability, orthognality and vertical run-out are .001 inch/inch. Horizontal run out is .0005 inch/inch. Precision versions are available.
